Schüco UK has recognised long-standing partner LITE HAUS UK LTD with a Low Carbon Aluminium Certificate, marking what the systems company says is a further step in reducing embodied carbon across construction projects.
The certificate was presented by Dee Benning, National Sales Manager at Schüco UK, who described the award as “another proud moment” and said it reflected the shared commitment of Schüco and its partners to a more sustainable built environment.
From 1 April 2026, Schüco UK introduced Schüco Low Carbon Aluminium as the standard for all aluminium profiles supplied to partners across the UK and Ireland.
According to Schüco, its Low Carbon Aluminium profiles have a global warming potential value of 3.84kg CO2e per kg. The company said this is achieved through the use of recycled content or green energy during production.
Compared with standard Schüco aluminium profiles, the low carbon alternative saves around 3.27 tonnes of CO2 per tonne of aluminium profile, representing an estimated 46% reduction in emissions.
Benning thanked Schüco’s partners for “leading the way” and said the company was working with customers to shape a lower carbon future for the construction industry.
Why This Matters: Sustainability in the built environment is gaining traction, and we are now seeing positive initiatives from leading names in the fenestration component sector. There have been many loose promises around recycling, often driven by the chemicals sector as it seeks to shift the onus on to the end user. It will be interesting to see how the Low Carbon Aluminium Certificates presented by Schüco UK are developed and incorporated into business processes.
