Origin has launched a new tilt and turn window, describing the product as one of the most requested additions to its range. The Buckinghamshire-based manufacturer said the system has been developed as a premium solution for partners seeking to win projects where design, performance and security are key considerations.
The launch follows what the company described as an extensive process of design, testing and refinement. Origin said the new window was created in response to growing demand from homeowners for products that improve the appearance of their homes while supporting comfort, thermal efficiency and security.
The company said the tilt and turn window marks a significant step in the development of its product offer, as it continues to invest in new systems designed to meet changing customer expectations.
Tilt and turn windows are valued for their flexibility, allowing the sash to open in different ways to control ventilation. Origin said its new product gives homeowners greater control over airflow, while maintaining the design standards associated with its wider range.
The window has been designed with a flush casement, giving it a clean, seamless appearance intended to suit a range of property styles. Origin said the system is aimed at customers looking for a combination of aesthetics and performance rather than a purely cost-led purchase.
According to the company, the window can achieve a U-value as low as 0.83W/m²K, supporting thermal efficiency and year-round comfort. It is also PAS 24 certified, a security standard designed to provide reassurance for homeowners.
As with other Origin products, the tilt and turn window is made to order at the company’s Buckinghamshire facility. It can be manufactured for both window and door-sized apertures and is available in more than 150 RAL colours, giving customers a wide choice of finishes.
Origin said the product also offers commercial benefits for its trade partners. The company said it could help partners improve showroom displays, support design-led sales discussions, broaden their product offer and create new opportunities with customers focused on quality and specification.
The system is supplied with a guarantee of up to 20 years, which Origin described as part of its wider commitment to quality, product innovation and long-term partner support.
Neil Ginger, Origin’s chief executive, said the company had focused on developing the right product rather than rushing to market. He said: “This wasn’t about bringing a product to market quickly, it was about bringing the right product to market – one that truly supports our partners’ growth and reflects our commitment to premium design and engineering.”
Origin said it expects the new system to help partners create high-quality spaces while supporting future business growth.
Why This Matters: We have written before on Glazing Today about the rising popularity of tilt and turn windows in the UK. Origin’s move is a good example of listening to customers and delivering a product they are comfortable selling to homeowners. They are not the first to market with this product, and market experts have commented it has one of the widest frames in the category at 101mm compared to established European that range from 66mm to 93mm. Origin customers however buy into the whole branding and partner messaging Origin has successfully developed over the year. This extension of the product portfolio further enhances this relationship.
