SOUND BITES: In expanded role, Renee Rice will focus on Marvin’s culture and employee experience

Marvin has announced the promotion of Renee Rice to vice president of human resources and culture. In her new role, Rice will lead efforts to support company-wide transformation, strengthen internal communications, and guide an innovative employee experience at Marvin, advancing business goals by reinforcing the company’s strong people-first culture.

“At Marvin, we genuinely believe that our most crucial resource is our people,” said Paul Marvin, CEO. “That belief has guided investments in safety, quality and employee engagement designed to enrich our company culture. Renee’s impact during her time with Marvin has elevated culture as a discipline that is now more fully integrated into how we lead, operate and grow across our footprint.”

Since joining Marvin in 2021, Rice has established a company-wide internal communications function and reimagined people recognition programs, along with a change management practice to support major business initiatives. Most recently, she served as Marvin’s senior director of communications and culture. Previously, Rice was a partner and communications leader at Minneapolis-based marketing communications agency Haberman.

“Renee brings clarity, integrity and a thoughtful approach to everything she does,” said Val Johnson, senior vice president of human resources at Marvin. “Her leadership has been key to advancing Marvin’s culture, and her expertise will be invaluable to this expanded role as Marvin continues to invest in fostering a culture of transparency, engagement and continuous improvement.”

Rice will now be based at Marvin’s headquarters in Warroad, Minn., where she will oversee the planning and implementation of strategies across human resources disciplines that will support communications and change, strengthen culture and engagement, and develop innovative recruitment and retention strategies.

“At Marvin, culture isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something we intentionally grow and nurture as both a company differentiator and a strategic business driver,” said Rice. “It’s energizing to be a part of a team that prioritizes its people, and that commitment is empowering as I continue to strive to make an impact for our more than 8,000 valued employees. I’m excited to relocate with my family to Warroad and fully immerse myself in a community that is truly at the heart of Marvin’s rich history and its bright future as we continue to grow and innovate for both our teams and customers.”
