Trade Counter Mate highlights Korniche bi-fold door installation success +VOX

Sean Fearn, Branch Manager at Trade Counter Mate, has shared a recent installation of the Korniche bi-fold door, offering a clear view of how product design and on-site workmanship come together in residential construction.

The project begins with a familiar scene: a bare structural opening. What follows is a noticeable shift in appearance once the Korniche system is installed. The finished result presents a clean, contemporary façade, defined by slim aluminium profiles and a deep anthracite finish that frames the glazing without dominating it.

Fearn points out that the visual impact is only part of the story. The installation also reflects the practical thinking behind the product’s design. The door system is manufactured to allow precise adjustment during fitting, helping installers achieve a consistent, factory-standard result even within newly formed openings. In this case, the alignment and finish show a high level of care from the trade professional completing the work.

Beyond appearance, the door’s operation remains central to its appeal. Korniche bi-folds are engineered with bearing-guided rollers and balanced panels, allowing smooth movement across the track. The intention is to ensure that everyday use matches the expectations set by the product’s appearance.

The system also includes polyamide thermal breaks, helping maintain interior comfort by reducing heat transfer. Combined with durable powder-coated aluminium, available in a wide range of colours and finishes, the doors are built for long-term use with minimal upkeep.

Fearn adds that installations like this act as a practical endorsement of both product design and trade execution. For suppliers, seeing systems fitted to a high standard offers a clear indication of how they perform beyond the showroom.

With bespoke sizing, multiple configuration options and concealed glazing seals contributing to a refined finish, the Korniche bi-fold door continues to appeal to installers working across new builds and extensions.

Why This Matters: Sitting in the editor’s chair, we are presented with a steady stream of new and innovative products to share with the industry. What truly brings a product to life, however, is the endorsement of a customer who has actually installed it. Here, Sean does exactly that, bringing to life a product that has already been widely covered across the trade press. It is clear that the time and effort Korniche has invested in engineering this bi-fold has paid off and is valued by its trade customers.
