NEWS: Warm-edge pioneer reports ‘promising leads’ after China trade show

Edgetech, a pioneer in “warm edge” technology, is celebrating a highly successful appearance at China Glass 2025, one of the world’s largest glass industry events. Trading under the name of its parent company, Quanex, Edgetech showcased its flagship Super Spacer technology alongside its distribution partner, Linkeast.

Held in Beijing, the event attracted hundreds of exhibitors and professionals from across the globe. Mike Moran, Edgetech’s Vice President for Sales (Europe & UK), said that China Glass “never disappoints”. He added that it was a “privilege to connect” with so many industry professionals and demonstrate how Super Spacer technology offers “performance, efficiency, and reliability in what continues to be a fast-evolving market”.

Super Spacer is a flexible spacer system that allows for the rapid production of insulated glass units (IGUs) with gaps ranging from 8mm to 28mm. A key benefit is that it requires no preheating and minimal setup time, helping manufacturers to meet tight deadlines while also reducing energy consumption and training demands for operators.

“Manufacturers today are under growing pressure to produce more, faster, and more efficiently,” Mr Moran said, adding that Super Spacer was “designed to respond directly to those challenges”.

The company’s stand attracted significant interest, with a curved IGU display made with Super Spacer TriSeal being a particular highlight. Mr Moran said the company was “heading home with strengthened partnerships, promising new leads, and a renewed sense of where the global IGU market is headed next.”

Why This Matters: China is leading the way in glazing innovation. The success of Edgetech at the recent China Glass is glowing recognition of the firm’s impressive line-up of warm-up technologies.
