Glaston, the Finnish glass processing equipment manufacturer, is doubling down on its innovation credentials at China Glass 2025, highlighting a suite of automation-driven technologies aimed at redefining efficiency across insulating, mobility, and architectural glass production.
The company’s headline innovation is the COMFORT TPS® system, a flexible solution for insulating glass (IG) units that eliminates the need for multiple machines by applying Thermo Plastic Spacer (TPS) material directly to the glass surface. The technology, which has now been adopted at over 200 plants globally, promises faster cycle times, reduced energy consumption and simplified logistics—benefits that have seen rapid uptake in China, where the system is offered exclusively.
Adding to its IG automation portfolio, Glaston has unveiled COMFORT’SEALER, an automatic sealing robot that integrates into its COMFORT BOX system. It uses gear pump dosing technology to apply sealing compounds with precise volume control—an upgrade aimed squarely at boosting line throughput and consistency.
On the tempering side, Glaston continues to push energy-efficient solutions with its TC Series, powered by the Chinook air convection system. This technology cuts heat-up times while slashing energy usage, aligning with rising industry demands for decarbonisation. The RC Series, meanwhile, offers a flexible and user-friendly platform for tempering a wide range of glass thicknesses and applications, from domestic showers to commercial facades.
Automotive innovation also takes centre stage. The CHAMP EVO line features energy-saving linear drives and faster setup times, while MATRIX EVO, a new automatic bending furnace, is designed for high-precision applications in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and heads-up display (HUD) glass. Its modular design and active convection heating cater to the evolving complexity of automotive glazing.
In tandem with the exhibition, Glaston will host an Open House at its Tianjin facility on 29 May, offering live demos of its integrated IG and automotive lines. As China’s glass industry intensifies its focus on automation, Glaston is positioning itself not just as a technology supplier, but as a strategic partner for processors facing rising efficiency and quality demands.
